For me, some things of the by-gone age have a 'romance' to them, and one of those is shaving with a straight edge. I like all the ceremony that goes with a morning wet shave. Lathering the cream with a badge hair brush, stropping the razor and the slight sense of danger as you scrape the blade across your face and neck. Sets you up for the day. If you can handle risking a slice to the carotid artery in your neck, you can handle anything.

So, I have 5 straight razors, which from time to time need sharpening and honing to get the edge back to where I can comfortably shave. This requires a set of stones for sharpening and various honing compounds.

Box of four Shapton Ceramic sharpening stones 2000, 4000,6000 and 8000 grit. I finish of my sharpening with a 15000 grit Imperia La Roccia natural stone. 

The larger box is home to the diamond compounds and strop used to polish the razor after sharpening on the stones.
